“Get licked, it’s why we’re here”
Ryan Prince aka Prince Kong started rapping in 2007, aged 22, to give himself a positive outlet in a so far troubled life. After moving to Spain in 2008, Kong was informed by old friend Gizmo that there was a new hip hop crew emerging and that he had a place when he returned. After a few scrapes and a short assesment Kong flew home, and the rest is history..
With his hard aggressive presence and passion for rapping, you’ll see an ever improving Kong on a stage somewhere with his veins bulging out of his neck and a double rum and coke in his hand. Make sure you clock him smashing battles in Don’t Flop (UK Rap Battle league – youtube.com/dontflop) where he is known to intimidate rappers with his physical presence and skill in equal measure! (Check this clash against Jolly Jay for evidence!) Kong is known amongst his peers as someone who continually pushes the boundrys and though he already clearly has an excellent grasp in the art of emceeing he is always looking to improve and learn.
His outing with Mad Hatter ‘Mad Gorillas Tea Party’ is a good indication of this. The duo move into the realms of story telling and also show other conceptual skills on a classic boom-bap style backdrop produced by a 19 year old Mad Hatter. A project with Brighton-based producer 184 and a plethora of other projects are on the cards as Kong cements himself as prolific emcee in his own right.
